WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? We are located in Kahana Bay. On the mountain side of Kamehameha Highway across the street from Kahana Beach Park. You can find our driveway with Hawaiian Flags and Kayaks on the side of the driveway. Located between the 2 bridges in Kahana Bay. In the navigation bar you click Directions for Google Maps and Apple Map link directly to us.
DO YOU OFFER KAMA`AINA DISCOUNT? Yes. We offer 25% off all rentals with valid Hawaii State Identification. All other forms of proof of residency will not be accepted.
DO YOU HAVE WIFI AT YOUR SHOP? We provide complimentary wifi at our shop. Feel free to ask the staff upon your arrival for the password.
IS THERE PARKING AT YOUR SHOP? We have free parking available on location.
DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SWIM IN ORDER TO RENT A KAYAK OR STAND UP PADDLE BOARD? Yes, You don't have to be a great swimmer but you should feel comfortable enough to swim back to your kayak with the help of a life preserver (PFD). If you are not a strong swimmer, we recommend that you stay closer to shore and not enter the tighter parts of the river
IS THERE ANY FEE FOR RESCHEDULING A RENTAL RESERVATION? There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee for rental reservations as long as the reservation involves 4 pieces of equipment or less and you contact us 1 hour before your reservation. Please view Booking Policy for full Details
IS THERE ANY CANCELLATION FEE FOR RENTAL RESERVATIONS? There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee If guests notify Kahana Adventures at least 48hrs before the scheduled time: Within 48hrs of scheduled time : You can still reschedule activity but no refund is due.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT YOUR KAYAKS CAN ACCOMMODATE? With our wide variety of kayaks, we can accommodate almost any size paddler. For participants greater than 250lbs (113Kg) wanting to paddle in a single (1-person) kayak, a double kayak will be set up as a single kayak to accommodate the participant if available.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS TO KAYAK STAND UP PADDLE BOARD RENTALS? Rentals for all ages are welcome as long as they are able to swim or are comfortable floating in the water with a life jacket/PFD. Minimum 30 Lbs. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
IS THERE SOMEWHERE AT THE SHOP WHERE WE CAN PUT OUR PERSONAL ITEMS WHILE ON THE RIVER? Locker rentals are included with all tour packages.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME FOR KAYAKING? We recommend bring lots of water, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses with retainers, water shoes, swimsuits or clothing you are comfortable getting wet, UV protected rashguards, dry bags, hats, a change of clothes for afterwards, a towel, and snacks to have while out on the water.
HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO KAYAK KAHANA RIVER AND KAHANA BAY? Kahana River is protected by the majority of wind which makes Kahana probably the easiest place to Kayak on Oahu. It is a 3.5 mile round trip paddle up and down the river. Usually it takes about an 1.5 hours to go up and down the river, depending on how many stops you make and how fast you paddle.
DO YOU RENT SNORKEL MASKS AND FINS? We offer snorkel sets including mask, snorkel, and fins for 3 hours.
IF I AM KAYAKING, WILL I GET WET? In our experience, yes, expect for all the clothes and gear that you wear/take kayaking to get wet.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE RETURNING MY KAYAK? We recommend calling the shop at 808-724-8435 immediately if you suspect that you will be late returning your kayak. We can easily extend your rental time if contacted before the rental time is up. However, for late rental gear, we reserve the right to charge the credit card on file a late fee per hour that the kayak is late. Additionally, all gear needs to be brought back to our dock before closing time.
HOW DO THE KAYAKS OR SUPS ONTO THE RIVER? Theres no need for transportation to the river. Our private dock is located on Kahana River. Where your Kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board will be waiting for you to start your adventure.

ARE THERE LIFEGUARDS AT THE BEACH/ RIVER? There are NO lifeguards on duty in Kahana Bay or on the River.
ARE THERE SHARKS IN THE RIVER / OCEAN? There are no Sharks in Kahana River. Sharks are incredibly rare in Kahana Bay. But, it is still the ocean so there is always the unlikely chance to encounter a shark while paddling.
